Verdelho, Chambourcin, and Dolcetto Wines in Bulahdelah

At Old Inn Road Vineyard, we grow three main grape varieties: Verdelho, Chambourcin, and Dolcetto.

Verdelho – Fine White Wines

Originally from Portugal and famous for its use in making Madeira, has adapted to the Australian climate and produces a uniquely fine white table wine with notes of citrus and a fresh, clean palate.

Chambourcin – Full Bodied Red Wines

Chambourcin is a French variety that produces a full-bodied red wine with a rich purple colour. It can also be enjoyed as a rosé or a sparkling red. This grape variety thrives in the Mid North Coast region due to its strong growth habit, excellent bunch size, and natural resistance to diseases.

Dolcetto – The Little Sweet One

We also grow Dolcetto, a black wine grape variety widely cultivated in the Piedmont region of northwest Italy. Dolcetto is named “little sweet one” in Italian due to its sweet nature, but it can produce excellent medium-bodied dry red wine or a superb sparkling rosé.

Old Inn Vineyard carefully tends to these varieties to produce exceptional wines that reflect the unique qualities of our region.
