09.01.2025 ‘Happy 2025’
Happy New Year! We hope you had a joyful and safe holiday season filled with love, laughter, and a glass or two of great wine.
As we welcome 2025, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on the incredible year that was 2024. For us at Old Inn Road Wine, it was a year of growth, milestones, and a touch of magic.
The 2024 season brought us an unprecedentedly early vintage, keeping us on our toes but rewarding us with wines of exceptional quality. It was also a year of recognition for our work, with our 2024 Verdelho earning two Bronze medals—one at the Cairns Wine Show and another at the Australian & New Zealand Boutique Wine Awards. We’re thrilled to see this vibrant and expressive wine receive such accolades.
More personally, April blessed us with the arrival of our first grandchild, Everett, a joyous occasion we’ll cherish forever. To celebrate, we’ve named our 2024 Chambourcin Rosé ‘The Everett’. ( Don’t worry, he won’t be tasting any of it for at least 18 years! But we will put some aside for him.)
This special wine is a lovely tribute to Everett, with tasting notes that reflect its unique character:
Appearance: Bright, soft pink with a pale hue.
Aroma: Savory red berry nose with a hint of barrel ferment complexity.
Palate: Dry, refined flavors of raspberry and briar fruit.
Crafted with care by our talented winemaker, Nick Paterson, ‘The Everett’ is a wine we’re deeply proud of and excited to share with you.
Looking ahead, 2025 is shaping up to be another early vintage. Thanks to diligent canopy management, we feel well-prepared and are optimistic about what this year’s harvest will bring.
We’re so grateful to have you as part of our Old Inn Road Wine family. Thank you for your continued support, and here’s to more unforgettable moments (and wines!) in the year ahead.
Cheers,
Sooze, Dale & Tilda
The Old Inn Road Vineyard team.
