Nick Paterson won the Riedel 2012 “Hunter Valley’s Rising Star” as well as winemaker of the 2011 Citibank NSW Wine of the Year. From vineyard to bottle, winemaker Nick’s family owns Chateau Pato, a micro-boutique Hunter winery, and he’s taken his skills from here high with his company Dogliani. Part of the ‘New Generation’ Hunter Valley winemakers, Nick believes in soft pressing the fruit allowing it’s unique characteristics to be enjoyed.

Nick has been fortunate to have the guidance of legends such as Murray Tyrrell, Len Evans, Iain Riggs and Andrew Spinaze. He had formative years working for Brokenwood and Tyrrells, as well as completing vintages in the Yarra Valley, Tuscany and Campania.

During Nick’s 19 years as a Winemaker his wines have been awarded 3 Championships, 25 National Trophies, 2 International Trophies and 45 Gold Medals. He is also proud to make wines for three Hunter Valley brands that have received the acclaimed five stars in James Hallidays’ 2014 wine book
